J.Diane is an artist and educator who grew up in Jackson, Mississippi during the heart of the Civil Rights Era. She taught in Los Angeles for decades, eventually becoming an administrator who trained teachers to use art in the education of children with special needs.
J. Diane debuted her art with a series of collages during the Annual Black Artist Salute to Black History Month at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza in Los Angeles, 1991. Her focus on shape, movement and color is evident in all her art. She has recently ventured into fluid art where she continues to attune her senses of shape and movement in colorful abstract acrylic pours. Her exciting, passionate works have attracted many people who enjoy experiencing her amazing raw pours. For J.Diane, art is an emotional quest to find the light of color in the midst of darkness.
